Dr. Hildebrand graduated from Michigan State University and subsequently the University Of Detroit School Of Dentistry. He completed his four-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at The Detroit Medical Centers Sinai-Grace campus in Detroit. In addition to being the residency program director, Dr. Hildebrand is also the chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Presently Dr. Hildebrand is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was a previous examiner for this board for seven years. Dr. Hildebrand is also an active member of various organizations and associations including a Diplomat of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
A medical review officer (MRO) is the linchpin in an effective drug testing program and the one touchpoint of all other participants involved in drug testing: the donor, the employer, the collection site, the laboratory and, where applicable, state and federal agencies. In the simplest terms, a MRO receives and reviews non-negative laboratory drug tests and evaluates whether the result has a justifiable medical reason or determines if sample adulteration or substitution has occurred. There is help available and St. Anthony Summit Hospital can assist individuals find the treatment and care they need to recover and heal from a traumatic brain injury or concussion. The St. Anthony Summit Hospital TBI program is supported by a Nurse Navigator experienced in working with individuals who have sustained a TBI and is familiar with the resources available both locally and state-wide to help those affected by a brain injury. The Nurse Navigator can consult with individuals and families to create an individualized plan for recovery. Additionally, the TBI program hosts two monthly support group meetings and offers multiple community events and educational presentations to promote TBI awareness, prevention, and treatment in Summit County.
This summer DeKalb senior centers reopened to a limited number of senior participants, on limited days and times, following COVID prevention protocols. Summary: The Securities and Exchange Commission is adopting new rules under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 that require each investment company and investment adviser registered with the Commission to adopt and implement written policies and procedures reasonably designed to prevent violation of the federal securities laws, review those policies and procedures annually for their adequacy and the effectiveness of their implementation, and designate a chief compliance officer to be responsible for administering the policies and procedures. In the case of an investment company, the chief compliance officer will report directly to the fund board. These rules are designed to protect investors by ensuring that all funds and advisers have internal programs to enhance compliance with the federal securities laws.
The Commission is adopting new rule 206(4)-7 under the Advisers Act and new rule 38a-1 under the Investment Company Act.9 The new rules require each registered investment adviser and each fund to adopt and implement compliance programs that conform to the new rules. Failure of an adviser or fund to have adequate compliance policies and procedures in place will constitute a violation of our rules independent of any other securities law violation. The new rules will thus permit the Commission to address the failure of an adviser or fund to have in place adequate compliance controls, before that failure has a chance to harm clients or investors.
Some commenters expressed concern that the rule would require directors to review lengthy compliance manuals and devote considerable time at each meeting to approving numerous amendments. Directors may satisfy their obligations under the rule by reviewing summaries of compliance programs prepared by the chief compliance officer, legal counsel or other persons familiar with the compliance programs. The summaries should familiarize directors with the salient features of the programs (including programs of service providers) and provide them with a good understanding of how the compliance programs address particularly significant compliance risks.33
In considering whether to approve a fund's or service provider's compliance policies and procedures, boards should consider the nature of the fund's exposure to compliance failures. In the case of a money market fund, for example, the board should consider whether the policies and procedures sufficiently address the fund's compliance with rule 2a-7.34 Boards should also consider the adequacy of the policies and procedures in light of their recent compliance experiences, which may demonstrate weaknesses in the fund or service provider's compliance programs. We urge boards to also consider best practices used by other fund complexes, and to consult with fund counsel (and independent directors with their counsel), compliance specialists and other experts familiar with compliance practices successfully employed by similar funds or service providers. 2ff7e9595c
