123d Design Download For Mac: Tips and Tricks for Creating Stunning 3D Projects

The 2.2.1 version of 123D Design for Mac was available to download on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. We recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus.

Let's get the most important detail out there right now. At midnight on April 1 (that's Saturday, folks!), any designs you have stored online in Autodesk's 123D service will be gone. Poof. No recovery. You will lose them.

If you want to save any of your work that you have not stored in local files, you must login now and download them. Do not wait. There will be no extensions. Any work that remains online after the clock strikes midnight will turn into bit dust.

All four of these programs are being discontinued. The download links for the programs were removed from Autodesk sites some months ago. There will be no more updates. And, of far more urgency, those who are storing their models using the online 123D infrastructure, will lose access to them on April 1.

So, there you go folks. Start downloading right now. I haven't used Fusion 360, so I guess this is a good time to learn. The company also suggests 123D Design users might like Tinkercad, but it doesn't seem like the online service will import 123D Design files.

I've just been notified by one of my 3D print forums that 123Design is being discontinued and will cease being supported come March 31st. Affected apps include 123D Make, 123D Catch, and 123D Sculpt. Some downloads for these plus Mac version downloads have already been taken offline, as will the online aspect of 123D Design - so you better download your files/apps while you still can! We have been advised to use Tinkercad, Fusion360 and ReMake in their place. Full announcement about the changes from Autodesk is here >

You also can use the (free) open source programs like LibreCAD or OpenCAD. Another program where I am playing around with at this moment is DesignSpark Mechanic. That one is also free, but is (fully optional) tied to suppliers (they give free model dimensions, so you can incorporate them in your design).

You can choose also choose Custom Materials, Object Size, Interactive Slice Direction and Modify Form to your needs. Most importantly, it includes animates Assembly Instructions that guide you step-by-step how to put together your creations. It's also integrated with Autodesk so that you can export your 2D build plans as EPS or PDF files. Finally, there's an extensive 123D Community from where you can download models and projects from users all around the world.

For TinkerCad users who are reaching limits download the 123d version right now. I downloaded the fusion360 for the Mac and it had problems running on my 2014 Mac mini running OS 10.10.5, but I probably need to get my OS software current.

I like 123D and just reached feeling comfortable using it so I'm disappointed it's been discontinued. Fortunately, if you download the installer before it goes away, it'll still install, work, and allow you to load and save locally. You just won't be able to use the cloud features.

- You have think differently on how to design the object. Everything starts with a 2D sketch, and then you extrude the object- Every step can be fined tuned, which will propagate to future steps- Has a visual history like photoshop- Automatically organize object parts into folders called body- Has online collaboration built in

Autodesk 123d Catch is becoming very popular in many countries such as the United States, China, and the UK. But this software only exists in the English version, which means that English speakers have to know English to use this program. For those who don't understand the language, you can also purchase the version in Mandarin Chinese or in Spanish. This product is very useful and effective when it comes to designing and building 3D models and structures.

When you purchase the software, you will need a couple of tools. These are a computer and an Internet connection. In addition to these two pieces, you will also need a CAD program such as Autodesk 123d Catch to use. There are actually a few different versions of the program so that you can choose the one that will work best for you. You can even choose to create your own custom version of the software, which you will be able to do if you are more experienced at CAD design.

The Steinberg Download Assistant allows for secure and convenient downloads of updates as well as full installers, including the latest program version. Furthermore, you can redeem a Download Access Codes in the Steinberg Download Assistant. It also guides through the subsequent license activation process.

Autodesk 123D Design is a free, powerful, yet simple 3D creation and editing tool for 3D printers. With Autodesk 123D Design, you can easily and quickly create detailed 2D and 3D models using smart tools in your Windows PC. Very amazing and useful program for all 2D/3D engineers and artist. Allow users of 123D to create physical objects from their designs using 3D printing technology.

Autodesk 123D Design 2.2.14 is available to all software users as a free download for Windows 10/8/7. This download is licensed as freeware for the Windows (32-bit & 64-bit) operating system on PC or laptop from 3d design without restrictions.

To create a 3D model in Catch the user should find a subject that can be easily photographed from many angles in good light. If the user is trying to create a 3D model of something with complex features they can take close up pictures on those areas to give better definition to the resulting model. Autodesk recommends taking between 30 and 40 pictures to create a well rounded model but when photographing larger subjects the user can take up to 70 pictures to give greater detail to the model. Once all of the images are saved they are uploaded to autodesk servers so they can be stitched together and a 3D model can be made. This process can take several minutes. Finally after they model is created it is downloaded to the user's device for viewing and editing. The 3D models created by Catch can be used in a number of ways such as 3D printing.

Catch offers users the ability to view, comment on, rate, and download other users models. Likewise any user of the app has the option to share their creations with the autodesk community via Autodesk's built-in sharing functionality.

Usually I use black pencils and sketch book to express in drawings and text the first vision. When we are taking about virtual modeling I try to use as simple tool as possible that still fits the mission objectives. SolidWorks was to complex for me even during my industrial design studies.

Rhino became a friend for me to compile complex shapes and I still use Sketch-Up for set and decorations designs. My Autodesk account gives me variety of their features, like Auto-cad, 123D Design, 123D Make and I had tried all of them during past years.

I would like to make a captured rotating bearing in the form of a ball and socket. I use Solidworks and the Makerbot Replicator2 in the Harvard Science Center physics teaching labs. Start with a simple concentric sphere design, including holes for 1/8" rods to connect. Questions to guide iterations:

Round 1: In the first set of sockets I make a thin support extending down from the inner ball. Inner diameter of all interior balls is 0.50". Due to the low surface area on the build plate, the objects do not stick well to the blue masking tape. Building on double-stick carpet tape solves that problem - adhesion is better. Hole size for insert: design size 0.125" gives actual hole 0.105". Hole size of 0.145" diameter in the design for socket002 gives slightly oversize hole in the top and about right in the bottom. Range of motion is 30 degrees.

Round 2: Settled on hole diameter of 0.142" - about 0.017" oversize. Change to a design that has more surface area in the first layer. Looks like it should allow more range of rotation as well. In the build, this sticks much better to masking tape. Now investigate size of gap between spheres. Radial gap of 0.010" (in socket005) is too small - the two spheres do not separate. Not a surprise. Gap of 0.030" and 0.025" are loose. For this design a gap of 0.020" seems about as close as possible to allow smooth motion (about 0.50 mm). Note that this is also a function of the design, since the unsupported overhang probably doesn't hang together very well. For a vertical cylinder, this gap could probably be smaller. Range of motion is about 40 degrees for socket009. 2ff7e9595c
